IMAGE BEARER
by Rachel Jamerson

IMAGE BEARER

The creator placed you,

In a vessel made of clay,

One he shaped so wonderfully,

For which you did not pay.

Created by his hand,

With tender loving care,

Seeing as here on earth,

His image you would bear.

He placed within the vessel,

A tiny speck of light,

To point the way and comfort you,

As you travel through the night.

You’ll encounter many thorns,

Be filled with much despair,

With bloody feet, you’ll push ahead,

For the pain with him, you’ll share.

Father, please enlighten us,

Lest we bow our head in shame,

The reason why  that serving you,

Is met with so much pain.

Tho the enemy hinders you,

His efforts are all in vain,

For the light within your soul,

Cannot be snuffed by pain.

He grabs the throat and throws you down,

Then stomps upon your  frame,

For every good, there seems to be,

Some form of hurt and pain.

The thorns that prick your flesh,

Will always be unfair,

That done to you is done to him,

Whose image that you bear.

Why does God allow it,

This pain that we now share,

Is positive proof, my dearest friend,

Of the image that you bear.

To render you unmoveable,

Is the adversary’s plan,

To cause your heart to doubt,

In the faith in which you stand.

Take no thought of what will come,

The things that seem askew,

The thorns that pierce your tender feet,

Are there to buffet you.

You are his hands and feet,

Your vessel holds the light,

That dispels the darkness,

For those who have no sight.

It must be borne by you on earth,

For this, you must declare,

The grace of him who sent you here,

Whose image that you bear.

And throughout eternity,

Know that you will share,

Unspeakable joy & love with him,

Whose image that you bear.

rachelrjamerson.com After becoming a Christian, my desire to write and quest for answers were dedicated to understanding God?s message to man. What exactly was He saying and why were there so many different interpretations? As a result, I became an avid student of scripture.

God gave me the desire to learn, research, study and write all of which I enjoy. When you can plainly see the path God has set before you it becomes easier to overcome the obstacles placed by the enemy. The scriptures are a light for your pathway. If you desire to know the truth, you will and the truth will set you free from bondage.
