His Commands and Invitations
by PamFord Davis

Kenwood was a one-man dog.

He was friendly to all in our family but his heart belonged to our son Lee. His large Husky-German Shepherd frame made strangers uneasy; yet, to us he was playful like a pup. Kenwood was happiest at Lee's side and loved rides in his pick-up truck. Instinctively, he waited and listened for Lee’s command and invitation.

"Kenwood, load up!"

Hearing Lee's voice, he jumped up and inside the truck.

The Good Shepherd calls.

"The doorkeeper opens it for him, and the sheep hear his voice. He calls his own sheep by name and leads them out. When he has brought all his own outside, he goes ahead of them. The sheep follow him because they recognize his voice. They will never follow a stranger; instead they will run away from him, because they don't recognize the voice of strangers (John 10:3-5 HCSB).”

How do I react to Jesus voice?

Am I excited and quick to respond to His commands, His invitations?

I recognize His voice of authority and trust in His protection and provision. The LORD keeps His promises.

Pam, load up!
