Scriptural Reading: Isaiah 4:5-6

‘‘And the Lord went before them by day in a pillar of a cloud, to lead them the way; and by night in a pillar of fire, to give them light; to go by day and night:’’ Exodus 13:21 (KJV)

Fire is scary and has a destructive tendency that cannot be resisted by any humankind. It is consuming and the heat is unbearable. Anyone that plays with it gets burnt.

Our scriptural reading records how God protects His people using fire and cloud. And one begins to imagine why fire and cloud? At night, the fire puts away all enemies and it makes us untouchable, while in the day time where there is physical and spiritual heat, the cloud shields us and it makes us invisible and inaccessible to all our foes.

God is a strategist and knows how to play His cards very well. The only language satanic forces understand is fire and that is why He constantly uses it for our protection especially at night when we are sleeping and we remain unconscious, and God uses it to burn the wicked in Hell as well. God does not want us to be harassed by forces of darkness.

Do we want to enjoy divine protection through fire and cloud on a daily basis at night and in the day time? If yes, then, this is what God requires of us in His word. ^‘We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not; but he that is begotten of God keepeth himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not.’ I John 5:18(KJV).To always enjoy divine protection through fire and cloud on a daily basis, God wants us to live godly in this ungodly world by abstaining from any form of sin.

Dear Lord Jesus Christ, protect me and my family always with your fire and cloud and do not allow your hedge of protection to depart from us not even in a second. Amen.

Fire burns and scares away moving objects and destroys inanimate objects, and it is a friend in every home.
