Close Knit Family
by PamFord Davis

‘Blood is thicker than water.’

There is a strong bond between members of a close-knit family.

As siblings, we feel emotions of love and compassion.

As God’s children, we are blood relatives; we are cleansed by Jesus’ shed blood.

“But if we walk in the light as He is in the light, we have fellowship with one another, and the blood of Jesus Christ His Son cleanses us from all sin (1 John 1:7 NKJV).”

I have continuous fellowship with my brothers and sisters in Christ!

“Then His brothers and His mother came, and standing outside they sent to Him, calling Him. And a multitude was sitting around Him; and they said to Him, ‘Look, Your mother and Your brothers are outside seeking You.’

But He answered them, saying, ‘Who is My mother, or My brothers?’ And He looked around in a circle at those who sat about Him, and said, ‘Here are My mother and My brothers! For whoever does the will of God is My brother and My sister and mother (Mark 3:31-35 NKJV).”

His will is perfect.

As brothers and sisters, we love one another.

“A new commandment I give to you, that you love one another; as I have loved you, that you also love one another.  By this all will know that you are My disciples, if you have love for one another (John 13:34-35 NKJV).”
