Scriptural Reading: Revelation 20:11-15

‘‘For we must all appear before the judgment seat of Christ; that every one may receive the things done in his body, according to that he hath done, whether it be good or bad.’’ II Corinthians 5:10 (KJV)

There was this revelation that God showed to me some time ago of one lady. This lady was a close family associate who died many years ago. In that revelation, I went to the lady and I was telling her that she was dead and that she should tell me where she was. During the cause of the interview, she would talk and at another point, she would pause and she told me that where she was, that she preferred planet earth to where she was. That means she did not make it to Heaven. She is in Hell. That morning as I woke up, it was crying all through in our family devotion. Heaven is real and Hell is real. Ecclesiastes 12:14, has told us that God would bring every one of our deeds to judgment including every hidden thing that we have done whether good or evil. There will be a bitter experience for all those who are not in Christ.

From our Bible passage where we read in the book of Revelation 20:11-15, reveals to us that all humankind will definitely appear before God in judgment, whether big or small and all our details would be checked if they appear in the book of life. This is the book that carries the final verdict. Anyone who is not found in this book of life would be cast into the lake of fire as death and Hell would be cast into the lake of fire as well. How hot will the lake of fire be? It will be hotter than Hell fire. What a place of misery and torment?  This is how the book of Mark 9:44, 46, 48 (KJV) put it ‘‘Where their worm dieth not, and the fire is not quenched.’’  This statement was repeated severally, meaning the issue of Hell is neither a joking matter nor child’s play.

God who is our loving father is also a consuming fire and He is never happy when we fall into sin and this keeps giving Him concern of how sinners will be able to stand the heat of Hell. Due to this, He wants us to live a holy and righteous life so that we would be able to escape His judgments on the day of reckoning.

Do we know that it is never too late for us to repent today as tomorrow may be too late? We can escape God’s judgment today if we ask for mercy today and we repent genuinely of all our sins. This is a scriptural guide we can hold on to on a daily basis and to apply continuously in order to escape His judgments. ‘‘He that covereth his sins shall not prosper: but whoso confesseth and forsaketh them shall have mercy.’’ Proverbs 28:13 (KJV). We pray that His mercies will replace all our judgments.

Dear Lord Jesus Christ, grant me the grace to live upright in order to escape all your judgments on the day of reckoning through your Holy Spirit Divine. Amen

God is the ultimate judge of all judges and the judge over all.
