His Love for Us
by PamFord Davis

It’s not a trite cliché.

The Christian life is ‘all about Him.’

“Surely our griefs He Himself bore,
And our sorrows He carried;
Yet we ourselves esteemed Him stricken,
Smitten of God, and afflicted. Surely our griefs He Himself bore,
And our sorrows He carried;
Yet we ourselves esteemed Him stricken,
Smitten of God, and afflicted (Isaiah 53:4 NASB).”

He was a willing sacrifice; He saw our sin and need of redemption.

It was all about His love for us.

“But He was pierced through for our transgressions,
He was crushed for our iniquities;
The chastening for our well-being fell upon Him,
And by His scourging we are healed.
All of us like sheep have gone astray,

Each of us has turned to his own way;
But the Lord has caused the iniquity of us all
To fall on Him (Isaiah 53:5-6 NASB).”

It was a heavy burden to bear.

“… and He Himself bore our sins in His body on the cross, so that we might die to sin and live to righteousness (1 Peter 2:24a NASB).”

The lost are transformed from death-to-life.

Truly, it is all about Him and His love for us.
