One Man's Humorous Dream of Heaven
by Rik Charbonneaux

"Joy is the serious business of Heaven." .. C.S. Lewis

I hope you have room in your heart for this humorous story that is occasionally shared with the nation by Pastor Colin Smith of "Unlocking the Bible" on Faith Radio, Minneapolis, MN:

There was an old man who dreamed that he had died and woke up in Heaven to quite a commotion going on. Saint Peter and an assistant gate keeper were engaged in a loud conversation:

Assistant: "Saint Peter! Saint Peter! There is a gang of Australians wanting in at the Pearly Gates!"

Saint Peter: "Well, then go back and let them come through!"

Assistant: "But Saint Peter! There has to be some sort of mistake! I was raised among this lot in my earthly life and they would steal anything that wasn't nailed down! Something has to have gone wrong here!"

Saint Peter: "Mistakes are not made here, so just go back to the Pearly Gates, re-check the rolls, and have a talk with them. I am sure that things are just fine."

The Assistant Gate Keeper had no sooner than left, but what he came running right back to Saint Peter and shouting:

Assistant: "Saint Peter! Saint Peter! The Pearly Gates are gone! And so are the Australians!"
