DIVINE VINDICATION OF THE OPPRESSED
by ONOME OGBAJIBREDE

Scriptural Reading: Lamentations 3:35-36

‘‘And behold at eveningtide trouble; and before the morning he is not. This is the portion of them that spoil us, and the lot of them that rob us.’’  Isaiah 17:14 (KJV)

There was this story my dad told me of one man in my home town. The man is late now. He was collecting people’s land and he was dragging the people to the court. All the land he acquired, whose own shall they be? He almost collected ours, but God stood for us and vindicated us from the hand of this evil oppressor.

To deny people of their rights before the face of the Almighty God, God is not in support of such an act. He has a way of overthrowing every oppressor in order to give peace, justice, and calmness to His beloved. The hand of God is always against the wicked and He makes sure that all they have acquired fraudulently is not being enjoyed by them.

God is both a physical and a spiritual combatant who knows how to overthrow any oppressor who makes things difficult for others. He does not want us to engage in any form of physical fight or to make trouble with anybody, He wants us to be calm and maintain the path of peace, and to report our oppressors to Him in prayers and they will be uprooted. He alone knows how to cut their reigns short. God overthrew the Egyptians who oppressed the Israelites and He restored their loses that were taken away by their evil oppressors. God overthrows the wicked on a daily basis and He gives relief to His dearly beloved.

Who is that fellow that is standing against us on our way to victory and breakthrough and has collected what rightfully belonged to us? Let us run to God through Jesus Christ our Lord and here is an anchor scripture we can apply on a daily basis to escape from the hand of every oppressor and God will vindicate us. Psalms 9:9-10 (KJV)The Lord also will be a refuge for the oppressed, a refuge in times of trouble.10 And they that know thy name will put their trust in thee: for thou, Lord, hast not forsaken them that seek thee.

Dear father, make all my oppressors uncomfortable and as you overthrew the Egyptians in the red sea, overthrow them today through Jesus Christ our Lord. Amen

Only God can oppress the oppressors and renders their habitations desolate.
