FAMILY

Thought: That word alone brings up allot of nostalgic memories for the young and old generations. It could be memories of Christmases past, the smell of turkey roasting in the oven, sweet potatoes and pumpkin pie. It could be that special gift under the tree, lights, smells and sounds of music whiffting through the air. All those things that bring a warm feeling to the soul. Or it could be just the opposite. Dad or mom missing from the picture. No presents, no Christmas tree. For many this was and is their circumstance. The unit of what we call family is void. For some they never hear the words "I love you" from the lips of a mother or father.

For those of you who find themselves in this circumstance there is a family you can have by a simple decision. God's word tells us that with Christ in our lives we are God's children, we are family. We are brother's and sisters to other believers who are part of this spiritual family. We have access to a Father who will always be there for us. A Father who gives us peace to calm our souls, comfort when we pass through those dark valleys, wisdom when we need to make critical decisions and most of all unfailing love. "For God so loved the world that he gave his only begotten son that whomsoever believeth in him should not perish but have everlasting life (John 3:16)."

How can we turn down a promise like that. Eternal life with a family that will understand when we go through difficult times and be there when you need them. To have a Father who never sleeps and blesses us everyday with untold blessings. The sun, moon and stars, food and shelter are witness to this unfailing love. But most of all his sacrifice of Jesus who took all our sins upon himself to offer forgiveness and eternal life. Jesus presence within leads us down that path of righteousness. If you feel isolated and alone come into the family of God and be reconciled to the Father, creator of all things, by believing what the gospel say about Jesus and invite him into your life today. If you have Christ as your redeemer and Savior then look to your fellow spiritual brother's and sister's as family without denominational titles, race, or status that would separate you from them. We are all one in Christ. Marantha

Prayer: Father God, I want to thank you for the daily blessings you send my way with so many unseen and taken for granted. Help me to realize the family I have all around me with fellow believers and not allow anything or anyone to separate us from the fellowship we can have with each other. I truly and freely can say "I love you and thank you." Amen

Verse: Gal. 3:26, 28b "For ye are all children of God by faith in Jesus Christ. 28b for ye are all one in Christ Jesus."
