THE DIVINE KEEPER
by ONOME OGBAJIBREDE

Scriptural Reading: John 17:11-12

‘‘They told [him], Your servants have counted the warriors under our command, and not one man of us is missing.’’ Numbers 31:49 (AMPC)

As we were at the Church on the 21st April 2019 being Easter Sunday, the teenagers and the children arrived at the church from the children’s camp where they had been to. They were looking refreshed and happy, and parents were happy as well seeing their children who were away for some days. All the children came back complete and there was none that was found missing. God kept them safe and there was no cause for alarm.

Jesus was telling the father how he had kept the people that He committed to His charge and that He did not lose any one of them except for the son of perdition (which was Judas Iscariot). Everyone was kept intact by Jesus Christ and He was able to give a good account of the people.

God Almighty is our keeper who does not sleep nor slumber and we are always safe in His hands. He wants us to always be safe from destruction and that is why He keeps preserving us on a daily basis for us to know that He truly exists and that He is able to keep our families and none of us would be found missing. Let us stand for Him and He will stand with us.

Do we know that for God to keep us safe we also have a role to play? That role is for us to keep ourselves from the world and be a friend of Jesus, and He would keep us safe. Here are also some supporting scriptures we can always apply on a daily basis for God to be our divine keeper. ‘ We know that whosoever is born of God sinneth not; but he that is begotten of God keepeth himself, and that wicked one toucheth him not.’’ I John 5:18 (KJV). ‘My Father, which gave them me, is greater than all; and no man is able to pluck them out of my Father's hand.’ John 10:29 (KJV).

Dear Lord Jesus Christ, come and be our divine keeper, keep me and every member of my family safe under your care and let not the wicked ones snatch us away from your hands through your Holy Spirit Divine. Amen

The divine keeper is a true watchman that wards-off every terror.
