Summertime Topic
by PamFord Davis

We all talk about the weather.

Our friends share the latest stories and pictures of their children, grandchildren and pets.

Yes, we discuss politics and our health.

It’s summertime and there’s another favorite topic; let’s talk fresh produce!

“The hard-working farmer ought to be the first to receive his share of the crops (2 Timothy 2:6 NASB).”

A recent luncheon table conversation centered on favorite local fruits and vegetables. Eating watermelon, two ladies mentioned Louisiana areas where the summer treat is grown. I chimed in with West Carroll Parish pride; our locally grown tomatoes and sweet potatoes are delicious.

Add your salt!

“You are the salt of the earth; but if the salt has become tasteless, how can it be made salty again? It is no longer good for anything, except to be thrown out and trampled under foot by men (Matthew 5:13 NASB).”
