Norm's Gift of Gab
by PamFord Davis

He’ll keep on working.

My husband Norm’s radio career began at the tender age of 9. When 1050 KLPL, Lake Providence, Louisiana invited listeners to an open house; he asked his parents to take him. Inside the radio station studios, he watched a disk jockey at work in the control room. He had no doubts; that was what he wanted to do. Years later, he owned and operated KLPL.

He first set up a make believe radio station at his home. Reaching his teens he went to work at his hometown station; KWCL AM in Oak Grove, Louisiana. There have been many jobs; many opportunities to work in his broadcasting career.

Work?

In reality, he’s never thought of his jobs in radio or television as work. I guess announcing is his ‘labor of love.’

“I know that nothing is better for them than to rejoice, and to do good in their lives,  and also that every man should eat and drink and enjoy the good of all his labor—it is the gift of God (Ecclesiastes 3:12-13 NKJV).”

God gave Norm the gift of gab.

He is very good at public speaking.

“A man will be satisfied with good by the fruit of his words,
And the deeds of a man’s hands will return to him (Proverbs 12:14 NASB).”

He is satisfied; he is fulfilled.
