Walk in Faith
by PamFord Davis

Are you a frequent flyer?

Fan of road trips?

Do you travel light?

When packing, it’s tough to decide what to take.

Don’t forget the Scout’s motto; be prepared. Many of us pack several bags; just in case (we might need extra clothes).  My Mom used to pack an extra collapsible bag inside one of her suitcases. She was preparing for her trip back home!

Jesus sent out His disciples. They wouldn’t need money for the journey; a bag, extra clothes or walking sticks. He expected them to walk in faith.

“And as you go, preach, saying, ‘The kingdom of heaven is at hand.’ Heal the sick, cleanse the lepers, raise the dead, cast out demons. Freely you have received, freely give. Provide neither gold nor silver nor copper in your money belts, nor bag for your journey, nor two tunics, nor sandals, nor staffs; for a worker is worthy of his food (Matthew 10:7-10 NKJV).”

His work is rewarding.

“And whatever you do, do it heartily, as to the Lord and not to men, knowing that from the Lord you will receive the reward of the inheritance; for you serve the Lord Christ (Colossians 3:23-24 NKJV).”
