According to Scriptures
by PamFord Davis

When was the last time you read a Reader’s Digest article?

Me? I honestly don’t remember; likely in a doctor’s or dentist’s office.

My current doctor’s office no longer makes magazines available. I’d guess most people don’t even miss them; patients spend their time in the waiting room on cell phones.

Giving readers a less time consuming opportunity to gather information, the Reader’s Digest Magazine has been publishing condensed articles since 1922.

Is the Gospel, (good news of salvation) available in condensed form?

John 3:16 provides a short summary.

“For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life (John 3:16 KJV).”

Why stop reading there?

There is so much more to the Gospel.

Everlasting life (salvation) by God’s Son…

He died; He was buried. He rose again!

“Moreover, brethren, I declare unto you the gospel which I preached unto you, which also ye have received, and wherein ye stand; By which also ye are saved, if ye keep in memory what I preached unto you, unless ye have believed in vain. For I delivered unto you first of all that which I also received, how that Christ died for our sins according to the scriptures; And that he was buried, and that he rose again the third day according to the scriptures (1 Corinthians 15:1-4 KJV).”
