Habits, Good and Bad
by PamFord Davis

Habitats and habits…

Play on words, words to play with?

Does my living environment have any effect on my habits?

Let’s say running water isn’t accessible; I might not make a habit of bathing and brushing my teeth. Yikes!

There are good habits. On the other hand, there are bad habits.

It is far easier to form a habit than to break it. Take smoking for an example; it doesn’t take long to begin the cycle of cigarette smoking. Breaking the habit is all together different. Fortunately, I kicked the habit over 50 years ago. I could kick myself for ever smoking in the first place.

First place… If God is first in our lives, He helps us to form good habits.

Gathering together for public worship is a very good habit. Yet; some habitually stay at home.

“Let us hold on to the confession of our hope without wavering, for He who promised is faithful. And let us be concerned about one another in order to promote love and good works, not staying away from our worship meetings, as some habitually do, but encouraging each other, and all the more as you see the day drawing near (Hebrews 10:23-25 HCSB).”
