JUST ONE STEP AHEAD!
by Lewis E. Thomas

JUST ONE STEP AHEAD!

I met a man named "Cossan" today at a place my wife and I often go to eat.
He had long grey hair and a bushy grey beard and he looked like a Mountain Man from some lofty high peak!

He was sitting at a table in ragged clothes with hand size holes!
And as I looked at him something stirred deep within my heart and my soul!

He had nothing on the table but a small white cup with contents unknown.
He was a man in great need with "NO PLACE" to call his Home!

I walked over to him and asked, "Boss, could you use something to eat?"
And he replied, "Yes sir, I'm hungry and that would be really neat!"

I walked up to the cashier with him and told him to order whatever he pleased.
My heart went out to him and my soul was deeply grieved!

He sat back down at his table to wait for his food to arrive.
And after a few minutes I walked over and stood by his side.

I asked him what his name was and gave him mine in return.
And as I talked with him my heart was moved with much concern!

He told me he had been "living in the woods" nearby with a friend!
And I knew that chances were after we parted that I would "never" ever see him again!

I told him to pray to Jesus and God and that they would meet his every need!
And I pledge to pray for "Cossan" every day and to ask God to please interceed!

I don't know what put "Cossan" in the homeless position that he is in today!
But, God wants all to know that those living their lives without JESUS should:

"WATCH OUT"!

Because Homelessness "for you" may be..."JUST ONE STEP AHEAD"!!!

Prayer Request:
Help me pray that Mr. Cossan Lewis will find Jesus and step onto that Straight and Narrow way!

I have been young, and now am old; yet have I not seen the righteous forsaken, nor his seed begging bread.

1 John 3:17

If anyone has material possessions and sees a brother or sister in need but has no pity on them, how can the love of God be in that person?
