God's House
by PamFord Davis

We’re members of Epps Baptist Church; I hope you have a church home. If not, you’re missing a blessing. I’m not big on surveys but was thinking what people might say on a survey; if asked to describe my husband Norm.

Many would be quick to say he enjoys covered dish fellowships. Desserts like banana pudding and chocolate pie are his favorites.

Others would comment on how friendly he is. He makes his way around the sanctuary before each service; stopping to speak to worshipers.

A few might mention his trumpet playing.

I’m not a betting person. If I was, I’d lay odds that one answer would score high on the survey. Norm has difficulty getting to church on time.

“But as for me, by Your abundant lovingkindness I will enter Your house,
At Your holy temple I will bow in reverence for You (Psalm 5:7 NASB).”

God’s house, church…

It is a house of prayer.

“I will bring them to My holy mountain
and let them rejoice in My house of prayer.
Their burnt offerings and sacrifices
will be acceptable on My altar,
for My house will be called a house of prayer
for all nations (Isaiah 56:7 HCSB).”

Does your church schedule weekly prayer meetings?

Don’t be late!
