Forget the Feelings!
by Tonja Taylor

“7 for we live by faith, not by what we see with our eyes.” TPT, 2 Cor. 5:7

What we see usually causes us to feel. This can be good or bad; we only want to choose those things that please the LORD, so what we see will cause us to have feelings that glorify Him. (2) to understand that believing in God (faith) does not depend on what we do or do not see, nor on what we do or don’t feel.

Years ago, I went up and received instant healing for my arm that had been strained. I marveled at the miracle as I walked back to my seat. I knew my arm had been healed, but wondered in my mind why I hadn’t felt it–like I had before when I’d received an instant physical healing.

The Holy Spirit, Who knows all things–including every thought we’ll ever have, every word on our tongues before we speak it–said immediately inside me, and emphatically–as if I should have already known this–“You don’t have to feel it. JESUS felt it!”

Wow, forgive me, LORD!

Pray this: LORD, please help me remember that Jesus felt everything I’d ever suffer–spiritually, emotionally, mentally, physically, socially, even financially–and that because He suffered, I don’t have to. Thank You! Also please help me remember that faith is not a feeling, and I walk by faith and not by sight, meaning, I don’t have to feel like my faith is working to know it is. I go by what Your Word says!
