IT DOESN'T HAVE TO END

Thought:  All around us we feel the festive atmosphere with music in the air, shoppers looking for that special gift and plans being made for a delicious Christmas dinner with friends and family.  Does it all have to come to an end December 31st ?
For believers who remember what this bright and cheerful event is all about and who it is that came into the mainstream of humanity that starry Christmas eve, it doesn't end in the beginning of the New year.  For those who have Christ in their life it continues on for the next 365 days.  The light of Jesus presence within keeps that flame burning as we spiritually walk and talk with the Lord and coming King.  When we begin our new day every morning we need to remember that "this is the day the Lord has made, we are to rejoice and be glad in it" ..... no matter what that day brings.

Jesus wants us to enjoy his presence when we are aware of who He is, what he accomplished on the cross and the precious gift he gives us with the redemption of our souls.  He came into the world like a lamb to be that one time sacrifice that would take away all our sins and give us eternal life with him in Heaven.  This should be our focus this holiday  JESUS IS THE REASON FOR THE SEASON.  Reach out to Him with open arms this Christmas and receive the gift He offers of forgiveness and eternal life. Maranatha

Prayer:  Father God, forgive my busyness during the holiday and remind me why we celebrate Christmas.  So many things of the world have tried to take your place.  Help me to make this a time of rejoicing when you made yourself known to the world through the person of Jesus Christ who's main purpose was to save us from our sins and give us life eternal.  Amen

Verse:  I Tim. 3:16  "It is quite true to live a godly life is not an easy matter.  But the answer lies in Christ, who came to earth as a man, proved spotless and pure in his Spirit, was served by angels, was preached among the nations, was accepted by men everywhere and was received up again to his glory in heaven."
