A YEAR OF MY DIVINE POSSESSION
by ONOME OGBAJIBREDE

Scriptural Reading: Joshua 21:43-45

This month shall be unto you the beginning of months: it shall be the first month of the year to you. Exodus 12:2 (KJV)

Each time I retrospected to many years ago of the story my in-law shared with me, I could not help but realize that in life, no condition is permanent. When things are not working well, God is in the know and when things are well off, God is also aware. My in-law graduated with a Second Class Upper Division in Business Administration from the prestigious University of Benin, Nigeria, many years ago. With his degree, he did a house boy job with one of the top-ranking politicians in the Federal Republic of Nigeria. Every day he would clean the house before visitors would start coming and when the visitors had left he would clean again and the palm of his hands was always as clean as a newborn baby’s palm as a result of the incessant cleaning. There was a place he used to go and eat roasted plantain. This faithful day he bought the roasted plantain and he could not eat it, he wrapped the roasted plantain and lifted his voice to God and said if his condition pleases God, let his condition remain and if his condition does not please God, God should change his story and he threw the plantain away. On seeing what happened, the seller of the roasted plantain could not behold the sight, she had to close her shop for that day, but thanks be to God and the healing power of time, and God remembered him and he got a very good job. The young man was able to possess his possession by using his mouth to reorganize his destiny.

This year, the Lord will help us to possess our possessions and everything that the enemies have stolen from us, the Lord will recover all for us and He will deliver all our enemies into our hands and none of them will escape. Our possessions are the blessings God has marked for us such as good jobs, divine health, long life, peace, prosperity, promotion, victory, etc. But the enemy is always trying to withhold all these from us, but God is stronger than them.

God is the great deliverer that is always available to hear us whenever we call on Him. God does not want us to lose hope in whatever we are passing through right now. He is ever faithful and His wish and desire for all of us are that He wants us to enjoy every good thing He has prepared for us. When we possess our possessions we will be able to live life with ease. When we are suffering, God is touched and He tries to rescue us if only we can make Him our strong habitation and have absolute faith in Him. Our faith in Him will be fully developed through studying His word, praying always and the ability to use our mouth rightly and above all to do good to all humankind. Through all these, we will be able to possess all our possessions hanging in the camp of our enemies.

Dear Heavenly Father, you are the only one that can fortify me spiritually and physically and give me help to contend with forces preventing me from not possessing my possessions. Help me to possess all my possessions through Christ our Lord. Amen

Contending through prayer and right decree is a guarantee to victory
