No Comparison
by PamFord Davis

Our rural churches once had packed pews…

“Who is left among you who saw this temple in its former glory? And how do you see it now? Does it not seem to you like nothing in comparison (Haggai 2:3 NASB)?”

There’s no comparison.

We live in an area with low income per capita. Jobs are scarce; forcing many to relocate or work away in pipeline or off shore jobs. Churches that once packed the pews cut corners. Ministry and outreach is hindered.

It’s easy to become discouraged.

We may struggle; yet, we persevere.

“… and all you people of the land take courage,’ declares the Lord, ‘and work; for I am with you,’ declares the Lord of hosts (Haggai 2:4b NASB).”

The LORD is in our midst!

“For where two or three have gathered together in My name, I am there in their midst (Matthew 18:20 NASB).”
