Pastors are often taken for granted.

Many church members neglect to express their encouragement and appreciation.

The saying holds true; you can’t please everybody.

At times, the ministry is a thankless service.

Pastors spend countless hours preparing sermon messages. They visit the shut-ins, make hospital visits and provide Biblical counseling. The pastorate work often drains them of both physical and emotional strength. It’s easy to become discouraged.

Why do pastors remain faithful to their calling?

They have a common purpose.

“We proclaim Him, admonishing every man and teaching every man with all wisdom, so that we may present every man complete in Christ. For this purpose also I labor, striving according to His power, which mightily works within me (Colossians 1:28-29 NASB).”

Complete in Christ…

The KJV uses the phrase perfect in Christ Jesus.

My pastor knows I’m not perfect. I readily confess that I am far from perfect; yet, I am complete.

Why?

I have placed my faith and trust in Jesus, the sinless Savior.

Christ has made me whole.

“Now may the God of peace Himself sanctify you entirely; and may your spirit and soul and body be preserved complete, without blame at the coming of our Lord Jesus Christ.  Faithful is He who calls you, and He also will bring it to pass (1 Thessalonians 5:23-24 NASB).”
