Remembering Mom…

Her flower gardens added color to our Mycenae landscape. I’m not into gardening but do appreciate the beauty of flowers and greenery. She planted pansies, iris, morning glories, gladiolas and marigolds.

Maybe so.

Betty Ford (our family ‘first lady’) had a creative side too.

Mom crafted beautiful poems; sketched faces and used oil paints to color black and white portraits.  She also cut and styled hair for family, neighbors and my out of town girlfriends.

Remembering Mom…

She was smiling the last time I saw her; that’s how I remember her.

Parting with an embrace, I had no way of knowing of her impending death.

We are mortal.

“For this perishable must put on the imperishable, and this mortal must put on immortality.  But when this perishable will have put on the imperishable, and this mortal will have put on immortality, then will come about the saying that is written, ‘Death is swallowed up in victory.  O death, where is your victory?
