The plant sap is rising,

first flowers are in bloom;

Birds are all scouting

for nesting room

The sunshine stays longer,

the frogs say, "Knee-deep,"

Mosquitoes are

interrupting my sleep

Pale legs are sprouting

from cotton-cloth shorts

The weatherman smiles more

as he gives reports

Gardens and weddings

are carefully planned

Pastel-hued garments

are much in demand

Couples are likely

to be seen kissing
