A Rift
by PamFord Davis

In a broken relationship?

Thinking of breaking all ties?

Won’t you reconsider?

Reconciliation is possible.

God reconciled us; He did not walk away.

“Now all these things are from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation (2 Corinthians 5:18 NASB).”

Christ Jesus is the mediator.

“For there is one God, and one mediator also between God and men, the man Christ Jesus, who gave Himself as a ransom for all, the testimony given at the proper time (1 Timothy 2:5-6 NASB).”

Sin causes a separation between God and man. The Father reconciles through the Son.

“For it was the Father’s good pleasure for all the fullness to dwell in Him, and through Him to reconcile all things to Himself, having made peace through the blood of His cross; through Him, I say, whether things on earth or things in heaven (Colossians 1:19-20 NASB).”

Know someone who has a rift?

The Father has given us the ministry of reconciliation.

“Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creature; the old things passed away; behold, new things have come. Now all these things are from God, who reconciled us to Himself through Christ and gave us the ministry of reconciliation, namely, that God was in Christ reconciling the world to Himself, not counting their trespasses against them, and He has committed to us the word of reconciliation.

Therefore, we are ambassadors for Christ, as though God were making an appeal through us; we beg you on behalf of Christ, be reconciled to God (2 Corinthians 5:17-20 NASB).”
