MY PEARL OF GREAT PRICE
by Lewis E. Thomas

MY PEARL OF GREAT PRICE!

Oh LORD, please guide my words and weigh them in your "SCALE"!
Let your Holy Spirit rule my words and let the "POWER OF LOVE" always prevail!

Lord, please forgive me for the harsh words I sometimes hurl at my precious wife!
* SHE IS A PRECIOUS GIFT FROM YOU THAT BRIGHTENS UP MY LIFE! *

Let my words to her be seasoned with your "AMAZING GRACE"!
Let me never, ever, speak words that cause "hurting tears" to roll down her face!

What kind of fool am I God, to think that I can speak to her just any old way?
And then believe that I'm "pleasing you" and walking in that "STRAIGHT AND NARROW WAY"!

My wife is a "BETTER CHRISTIAN" than I can ever "hope" to be!
She is a "SELFLESS SOUL" and always faithful to me!

She reminds me of the "PEARL OF GREAT PRICE" that a man gave "all he had" to buy!
She is a "PRECIOUS JEWEL" that GOD sent down to me from that Realm beyond the Sky!

Oh, LORD, Please help me to "ALWAYS" treat her as "SUCH"!
And help me to "always" speak to her with a kind, and tender loving touch!

This poem is an open apology to my wife who I hold very dear!
God is watching us husband's, so we had better strive to honor our wives and to bring them good cheer!

AMEN...

This poem dedicated to my wife Penny!
* SHE IS MY PEARL OF GREAT PRICE! *

I wrote this poem in about five minutes this morning after the Holy Spirit convicted me of my mistreatment of my wife!

Again, the kingdom of heaven is like unto a merchant man, seeking goodly pearls:
Who, when he had found one pearl of great price, went and sold all that he had, and bought it.

Husband's, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the Church, and gave himself for it;
