Balance

Balance
God created us balanced, and then life happens, and then, life becomes a puzzle.

Throughout life, we miss our toys, our belongings, a certain taste, ambience, settings, events, parents, grandparents, siblings, family, people from school, from events, sometimes we even miss ourselves too.

We all are building, painting, creating. Trying to find balance in today’s circumstances, which functions like a sprocket and chain in this puzzlement we know to be life. The balance of which we are to cope with, demystify, making pieces fit, or, at least, we are trying to. In the New Testament Jesus gave us guidelines to follow. He gave us Himself as mentor, as example, as teacher. He taught us how to pray. Why are we trying to fit pieces of another’s puzzle into our own?

Do I sometimes feel puzzled? Of course I do. Does life out there seem to be full of questions with only a handful of answers? Sure it does. ‘Life out there’, because life in here, called home, I can manage. I can see to it that all the pieces fit, and the sprocket and chain is at the right tension. ‘Life out there’ is only part of the puzzle of which I have little control over if any.

Pieces do go missing. Through discussions with Jesus, those pieces can be found. By prayer, renewing thy mind, our balance and clarity are defined and refined.

Rather live our life as a complete puzzle, meaning all the pieces present, or as a sprocket and chain, the tension is just right. Maintaining balance, pieces that fit, albeit some pieces to be a little blurry and worn-out. Our puzzle picture to be that of People of Principle, The Ten Commandments, The Lord’s Prayer, The Book of Proverbs, some Psalms. Take guidance from The Book of Wisdom, The Book of Ecclesiastes instead of trying to fit pieces from another person’s puzzle. Pieces of a puzzle that are unfamiliar, distorted and thus do not belong.

Surely, we do not want to be or stay a mystery to others and to ourselves, continuously missing pieces of our own puzzle.

I love writing and has been writing on and off for a number of years. Recently this developed into part time passion. Through the guidance of God, I believe there is a message that needs to be in print. I am a collector of books, the older the better. Currently I reside in Pretoria, South Africa.
