I visited an old Church one day that was more than 100 years old!

And I noticed a "BEAUTIFUL MIRROR" that had a frame engraved with Angels, made of "PURE GOLD"!

 

There was no one around and as I gazed into this mirror hanging on the wall...

I spoke to it, "Mirror, Mirror, on the wall, who is the fairest and the best Christian of all?"

 

Suddenly the "GOLDEN MIRROR" began to shimmer and sparkle all around it's frame!

And then the "GOLDEN MIRROR" spoke to me, and it called me by "NAME"!

 

It said, I'M GOING TO SHOW "YOU" JUST HOW YOU LOOK "SPIRITUALLY" TO GOD!

And then it began to flash between two different modes that were "FRIGHTENING", "TERRIFYING", and odd!

 

The "GOLDEN MIRROR" would stay in spiritual mode for about ten seconds of "TIME"!

Then it would switch back to normal mode for ten seconds and things would look normal and fine!

 

In spiritual mode I looked horrible and grotesque and I was covered with white leprosy from head to toe!

I had oozing boils and open wounds on my body which depicted the condition of my sinful soul!

 

The "GOLDEN MIRROR" spoke saying; You have your Pastor and "everyone" in your Church and Social circle completely fooled!

"You put on a good "CHRISTIAN SHOW" and you think that you are so "RELIGIOUSLY COOL"!

 

The "GOLDEN MIRROR" continued: 

"You outwardly appear righteous, holy, devout, and totally devine!

But "SPIRITUALLY" you are "COMPLETELY COVERED" with the "PLAGUE of SIN" and it's oozing slime!

 

I awoke suddenly from my nightmare with a brand new "FEAR AND RESPECT" for GOD up above!

And I quickly repented and pledged to the LORD that I would give Him "all" my devotion and love!

 

How about you today as you close this humble little rhyme?

Are you spiritually "CLEAN" in the eyes of God or are you "covered" with Sin's oozing sores and slime?

 

MIRROR, MIRROR, FRAMED IN GOLD...

"IS IT WELL WITH YOUR SOUL"???

Isaiah 1:1-18, 3rd John 1:2, 

 

The disease of Leprosy is symbolic of sin in the Bible!

Even though leprosy is seen on the outside of the body, the real cause of the disease was/is lying beneath the surface! The sores and such were symptoms of the disease, but the cause ran deeper still. Sin is precisely the same! We are not sinners because we sin, we sin because we are sinners!
