God of the Heavens
by Sonja Mattison

Psalms 115:3

But our God is in the heavens: he hath done whatsoever he hath pleased.

WE must remember God is the Creator; thus, he is our and his BOSS. He is our sovereign. God controls the universe through his divine spirit, and via him, he reaches out to us with his authoritative love to give us the breath of life so that we can live freely and soar into goodness and greatness with grace. The connection between us and God is a composed relationship of unconditional love on God’s behalf. He loves us.

Since he lives in the heavens, he manages to guide, protect, and watch over us so that we will have meaningful lives. In the process, he takes us on various journeys, even arduous ones, to demonstrate through our experiences how to understand life. And, through these tough paths of endurance, he is showing us the way of life. When we encounter any form of discomfort, whether it be imprisonment of the mind, feelings of sadness, or anguishing darkness, it is easy to become dismayed and sink into depression or “stew” and “rot” in our mess.

We cannot control fate, and many times feel powerless. But that is okay because God is the divine controller of our daily lives. It is by his doing and for the sake of our purpose here on earth that he helps us develop a deeper understanding of his spirit to gain belief in him, which gives us power within our souls to fly with faith and conquer. From distress to tragedy, God molds us to survive in the world in times of suffering and moments of joy.

The Lord is a guru of knowledge and suffering. He is an omniscient God. Because he is the Most High, in moments of despair, he knows what we need and shapes our lives to align and sync with every experience. He controls our lives from the beginning to the end. His intent through his power is to love us so that we can see clearly through the lens of Jesus Christ to live, love, and hope through him, all with wisdom. Under his dominion, God allows phenomena simply to show us life through his word. His mastery in the heavens also permits him to do as he pleases. Therefore, we must submit ourselves unto him in times of distress, and joy and fulfillment that will be a result of the treasuresfrom the heavens.

Matthew 3:15

And Jesus answering said unto him, Suffer it to be so now: for thus it becometh us to fulfil all righteousness. Then he suffered him.
