Ah, to sing! It is the lilting of the soul; it is a power, a freedom from Heaven. While many are not using their power of singing to bring Heaven to earth, many more are--and so can you!

Singing can lift the soul and spirit like nothing else, especially if the music is from the LORD. 

We humans  love to sing, and feel free to sing in the shower, our cars, or when no one else is around.  We love to sing as children and grow up enjoying the freedom and power of it.

Slaves and prisoners--since ancient times, in many lands--have sung. Peter and his companion were singing praises to the LORD at midnight, which caused the LORD to draw near and send an angel to free them (Acts 12:9)! 

Birds sing, and they are praising the LORD. Instruments have voices and "sing".  People have reported hearing angels sing as they worship. Truly, when we worship the LORD, the holy angels do too. 

Many people have been healed when hearing the LORD's praise sung by another. It's not the person singing that does it; it is the LORD's Spirit moving on and within the words that bring Him praise and honor and glory. 

Many scholars believe the LORD Elohim, our Creator--Who is the Spirit of Freedom Himself--sang as He created the universe! 

And I believe that, like any doting parent, He sings over us daily, from the time He sent our spirits from Heaven into our baby bodies in our mother's wombs. In the Berean Study Bible, Zephaniah 3:17 says, The LORD your God is among you; He is mighty to save. He will rejoice over you with gladness; He will quiet you with His love; He will rejoice over you with singing.” -- Zephaniah 3:17

It is inherent in us to sing, and the LORD gives us songs of joy and songs of deliverance. Praise Him! 

"A sword is balanced like a tuning instrument; sometimes all it takes is a song to swing the battle in your favor," stated a Christian author in one of her books years ago. I agree! 

Many times in the Word, the LORD instructed the singers to be out front of the armies! We cannot understand it, but when we praise and worship the LORD, His Spirit and His angels go into action, fighting for us, defeating our enemies, and setting things right in our lives! Hallelujah!

During some of the toughest times of my life, the LORD has given me a song. Singing to the LORD has brought me through times that nothing else would.  Sometimes the songs were very simple, but straight from my heart to His. I knew it was His Holy Spirit, for it just rose up out of me, unplanned, and sometimes, with completely new lyrics than I'd ever heard before; He was creating a song on the spot to give me deliverance, comfort, and healing in that moment! 

His Spirit was singing through me to bring me to a new level of freedom--from sickness, illness, disease; from confusion and condemnation; from unforgiveness and strife; from distraction, depression, and discomfort--in His Word, His will, His way!

He will do the same for you! Ask Him to give you a song in the night, to increase your freedom. He will!
