The Pilot Car
by Tonja Taylor

It was a beautiful day, and I was traveling between towns as part of my job.  After a half-mile or so on a long bridge, I encountered some road construction, and I had to wait several minutes.

However, I'd learned to resist the frustration and instead choose to take the time to read my Bible app on my phone as I waited. I had plenty of fuel, of course, a bottle of water, my cell phone, Christian worship on the radio, sunshine, and the LORD with me, always. I chose to enjoy the minutes.

As I read the Word, I was encouraged and reminded of where my true position was: in Heaven, seated with Him.

I was first in line, so I had the best view of what was happening. The traffic had really stacked up behind me. After several minutes, a tiny white car with flashing lights headed toward us. The flagman turned the sign from "STOP" to "SLOW."

The little car turned around, and on the rear of it was a big sign tha said, "PILOT CAR. FOLLOW ME."

The pilot car knew the best, safest path for us to navigate the bridge, which had lots of construction crews and trucks and other things that could be potentially dangerous to drivers who didn't know the way.

So has Jesus, Who knows all things, called us to follow Him. He is our Good Shepherd, Who loves us beyond compare, and will never lead us in any wrong path.

Let us follow Him with all our hearts today!
