Instant Facelift - A Smile!
by Tonja Taylor

Psalm 126:1-3, from The Passion Translation, says:

It was like a dream come true
when you freed us from our bondage and brought us back to Zion!
We laughed and laughed and overflowed with gladness.
We were left shouting for joy and singing your praise.
All the nations saw it and joined in, saying,
“The Lord has done great miracles for them!”
Yes, he did mighty miracles and we are overjoyed!

Yes, it's true. Smiles are free, easy, and beneficial to you and those with whom you share your gift of a smile.  When you smile, you increase your oxygen intake, and it's easier than frowning; it takes more muscles to frown!

When you smile, you look better. A smile is an instant face lift for anyone, anywhere, of any age!  It is the ambassador of good will, and the world could use a lot more of that!

When you smile, especially more than a few seconds, it can set off a delightful chain reaction of return smiles! Then both you and the ones whom you smiled at feel better!

When you smile, it is a form of choosing to be positive; choosing to set your mind on things above. Choosing to remember on purpose the many good things God has done for you--even just today!--should definitely get a smile on your face that lingers long after your day ends! (Try it; you'll like it!)

When you smile, you are showing love, and God is Love (I John 4:8)! The world is dying to experience true Love!

So consider making it a goal to smile more in 2021, but remember to smile at God and others and thank them for all the good they've done for you!
