I have loved the name "Emmanuel" for decades, and the songs that sing of Him. 

"God with us," is what it means. Praise the LORD!

How many times have I felt both delight and wonder at the fact that--whether I'm washing dishes; taking a shower; lying in bed; writing books; exercising; mopping the floor; teaching precious kiddos; taking out the trash; playing the piano; driving; visiting my mother; worshiping in church; listening to preaching; shopping for groceries; putting clothes in the washer; painting my fingernails; or whatever--Jesus (Emmanuel!) is with me! 

How amazing and humbling that the God of Heaven and earth, Who created and sustains and loves and overshadows (protects) us; the perfect and holy One in Whom there is no darkness nor shadow of turning; is, from the moment we receive His Son Jesus Christ as Savior and LORD, forever with us!
