It Snowed!
by PamFord Davis

Snow in the Deep South…

It wasn’t deep; only about 2-4 inches but it made forecast headlines. We went from a winter weather watch to a winter weather warning. It wasn’t  a false alarm. This time the National Weather Service and Weather Channel were in agreement; they get a gold star. It snowed.

The children got a snow day and posed for pictures with family and snowmen. It snowed.

I live in the South but was born and raised in Upstate New York. I remember snow accumulations of 25 inches over night. I remember; I don’t miss it. It’s not my cup of tea. It takes a lot of hot tea (coffee or hot chocolate) to thaw me out in the winter.

Winter weather is a given. God gives it.

“Have you entered the storehouses of the snow,
And have you seen the storehouses of the hail (Job 38:22 NASB)?”

It snowed!

“For as the rain and the snow come down from heaven,
And do not return there without watering the earth
And making it produce and sprout,
And providing seed to the sower and bread to the eater;
So will My word be which goes out of My mouth;
It will not return to Me empty,
Without accomplishing what I desire,
And without succeeding in the purpose for which I sent it (Isaiah 55:10-11 NASB).”
