Practicing Princesshood
by Tonja Taylor

The next day, Princess Pearl woke and remembered. She smiled.

“Ah!” she said. “Today is my first day to practice princesshood!”

She had finally reached double digits--10--so it was time to start acting much more like the true princess that she was.

She had real all about princes and princesses, kings and queens, and how they used their power and wealth to do good.

“Now,” she said, “what should be my first Royal Act?”

She got out the special journal she’d bought just for this and wrote inside the cover, “The Royal Account of the Royal Acts of One True Princess, Princess Ariel Dominique Walker—the true Princess Pearl.”

First Royal Act: Give praise to Father God

She lifted her face and her hands to Heaven and said, “I love You, Daddy God. You are so awesome! Thank You for making me a Princess in Your Kingdom. And thank You that You are going to help me be the best Princess there ever was!”

She blew Him kisses. Then she sang, “Jesus loves me!”

She remembered Queen Mother saying that The King loves music! And that He, the LORD, sings over her! She was like, “Really?!” and Queen Mother showed her where it was in the Word.

Sure enough, it was right there in Zephaniah 3:17: "The LORD your God is among you; He is mighty to save. He will rejoice over you with gladness; He will quiet you with His love; He will rejoice over you with singing.”

“Father God, that is so neat that You sing over me and all of us! Hmmm. What do you sing? Can you tell me?”

She thought about it for a moment, then she said, “Hey! Jesus, when I sing to Father God, You sing too, right? ‘cause You are the Holy Spirit Who sings through me, so You must worship with me….right? How neat--my spiritual high five word!"

She had learned in a Biblical history lesson from Queen Mother that every king of Israel had to be trained in the Law and have a copy of the Law, by royal scribes, made for the kings to rehearse every day.

Second Royal Act: Read and recite from the Royal Book every day.

“Daddy God, I like Psalms, because king David wrote them and they are pretty poems and songs. Is it all right if I start there? I make the Royal decision to start with Psalms. Hmm," she said. "Which one? They are all so good!”

She was quiet for a moment, then smiled. “Of course, Your Majesty! I will start at the beginning! Yes, Psalm One. And oh, yes, I think it wise to continue with the “Royal Wisdom of Proverbs” as Queen Mother says. So I will read Proverbs 1 today, too! And that will be my Second Royal Act.”

“Since I don’t have a Royal Scribe yet, I suppose I will have to write my own copy of Your Law……but that’s okay. I wonder if Robert would do it? No…..never mind. This will be fine. I don’t want him touching my journal anyway!”

"Blessed (happy, fortunate, prosperous, and enviable) is the—LORD, I’m going to put me in here, okay? Like Queen Mother said would be good. 'Cause You are talking about me here, too--a Princess who "walks and lives not in the counsel of the ungodly (following their advice, their plans and purposes), nor stands (submissive and inactive) in the path where sinners walk, nor sits down (to relax and rest) where the scornful (and the mockers) gather, like Psalm 1:1 says! Yeah, Jesus!"

Third Royal Act: Teach the Royal Law. Live it and give it!

"Yeah, LORD, as Queen Mother says, help me to live and give Your Word! Thank You, LORD, You are helping me to be the best Princess of P.O.W.E.R. ever!"
