Brimful of Thanksgiving
by Verna Cole Mitchell Like rivers rise up from their beds And lakes leap to their banks, So my soul overflows with praise And offers God my thanks. Like sunshine streams across the land To spill each golden ray, Grows my heart rich with gratitude For mercies new each day. Like birds begin each morn with song In joyful harmony, So sing I then along with them A grateful melody. Like bees surround a honey pot Where sweetness can be found, So my soul delves into God's Word Where promises abound. Like all of nature does applaud Our great Creator's care, Join I with them in gratefulness And bow my knees in prayer. When I reflect upon His love God gives abundantly, I'm overwhelmed by what I owe To Him who died for me. Verna Cole Mitchell is a wife, mother, grandmother, and retired teacher, who is so grateful to God for all his blessings. Her desire is to honor God with her life and with her words.
