Jack Frost
by PamFord Davis

Jack Frost needs a GPS. He misread his map and ended up in the ARK-LA-MISS. Suzy Snowflake hitched a ride.

My husband and I are snow magnets. We once lived in the California low desert and the snow followed us there. Yet, God is in control.

“For to the snow He says, ‘Fall on the earth,’
And to the downpour and the rain, ‘Be strong.’
He seals the hand of every person,
So that all people may know His work.
Then the animal goes into its lair
And remains in its den.
From the south comes the storm,
And from the north wind the cold.
From the breath of God ice is made,
And the expanse of the waters is frozen (Job 37:6-10 NASB).”

I’ve checked forecasts and the predictions are brutal. We’ll likely have snow, freezing rain, sleet and several inches of accumulation. Low temperatures are forecast in the single digits. Ready or not; here it comes.

“He sends His command to the earth;
His word runs very swiftly.
He showers snow like wool;
He scatters the frost like ashes.
He hurls His ice as fragments;
Who can stand before His cold?
He sends His word and makes them melt;
He makes His wind blow, and the waters flow (Psalm 147:15-18 NASB).”

North winds are blowing; soon it will be snowing!
