One common enemy of man is corruption. What then is corruption? I love a much more difficult, scientific definition for this concept called corruption developed by professor (emeritus) Dr Pelrus van Duyne that runs thus 'corruption is an improbity or decay in the decision - making process in which a decision - maker consents to deviate or demands deviation from the criterion which should rule his or her decision-making, in exchange for a reward or for the promise or expectation of a reward, while these motives influencing his or her decision - making cannot be part of the justification of the decision. "

One important fact about this evil concept is that it is not new. It is as old as human existence. The Holy Bible records,
" God observed all this corruption in the world, for everyone on earth was corrupt. " Gen 6:12.

The above was recorded in the days of Noah. In that generation, it was only Noah who was righteous. However, his righteousness saved seven other members of his household ; Gen 6:9; 7:1.

Every living thing was destroyed because of corruption and violence. Since mankind continue to multiply on the surface of the earth, corruption has also been on the increase. Both the highly and lowly placed are involved. From the nuclear family to the head of Government of every country.

Those who are exempted are just few. Those who appear like the righteous only have their evil conduct covered for a season. They will be one day exposed.

The vital question now is, "if the Lord God did not spare the people of Noah's days, will He spare those of today?" Can people of this generation escape the sore judgement of a righteous God?

Before judgment comes, it is better to raise our voices to Him and say,
"Lord, heal our Land!"
My dear reader, it is essential that man must consider his ways and make necessary changes. Let it start with you. This will guarantee His forgiveness.

Not only this, do all within your means to speak against corruption and that people should repent. Afterall the Lord Jesus Christ, the son of God had come into the world to save all those who believe in God and Him. John 3:16,14:1.

However, it is worthy of note that Satan is on rampage to own as many people as possible knowing that he has only a short time. This is the perilous times warned Timothy by his Father in the Lord, Apostle Paul.
"For people will love only themselves and their money. They will be boastful, proud, scoffing at God, disobedient to their parents, and ungrateful.
They will consider nothing sacred." 2 Timothy 3:2.

Do not belong to any of the corrupt group, stand out and upright. Encourage others to stand out from them. Corruption is a canker worm that has eaten deep into the fabric of every society in varying degrees. Yet, let us call on the Lord to heal our land today!
