King's Lap
by PamFord Davis

Subjects bow the knee before their King.

Jesus is King of Kings; one day, all with bow in submission and worship.

“Have this attitude in yourselves which was also in Christ Jesus, who, as He already existed in the form of God, did not consider equality with God something to be grasped, but emptied Himself by taking the form of a bond-servant and being born in the likeness of men. And being found in appearance as a man, He humbled Himself by becoming obedient to the point of death: death on a cross. For this reason also God highly exalted Him, and bestowed on Him the name which is above every name, so that at the name of Jesus every knee will bow, of those who are in heaven and on earth and under the earth, and that every tongue will confess that Jesus Christ is Lord, to the glory of God the Father (Philippians 2:5-11 NASB).”

I confess Jesus Christ as Lord and King.

In gratitude, I give God the Father praise and glory.

I’ve been adopted!

“For you have not received a spirit of slavery leading to fear again, but you have received a spirit of adoption as sons and daughters by which we cry out, ‘Abba! Father (Romans 8:15 NASB)!”

I bow the knee.

Yet; I confess that at times I just need to sit on the King’s lap.
