For the word of a king is authority and power, and who can say to him, What are you doing? --Ecclesiastes 8:4, AMPC

But to as many as did receive and welcome Him, He gave the authority (power, privilege, right) to become the children of God, that is, to those who believe in (adhere to, trust in, and rely on) His name—John 1:12, AMPC

A couple of days ago, I was enjoying the lovely weather as I sat outside and read my Bible.  Besides worshiping, reading the Word outside is the most sublime thing in my life. 

Then I heard some men talking--and cursing, with extremely vulgar words.  I looked around and saw them--they were a few houses away, but I heard them so clearly that it was an extreme interruption to my time with God. 

I was indignant. How dare the enemy interrupt my blissful time with the LORD? I thought. Phooey on him! 

Although I'd been learning about my authority through the years, I'd recently enrolled in Bible school and had gone deeper. I realized quickly that I did not have to put up with this cursing--or any interruption in my time with God. I have authority over demons and the negative situations they cause, when it pertains to my life! Hallelujah!

Behold! I have given you authority and power to trample upon serpents and scorpions, and [physical and mental strength and ability] over all the power that the enemy [possesses]; and nothing shall in any way harm you.--Luke 10:19, AMPC

So, here's what I did--and here's what you can do, too! If you are born again by faith in the LORD Jesus Christ, then you have authority over the devil, satan (Yes, I purposely did not capitalize his name!). In the Name of Jesus, I took authority over those demons, and routed them!  We children of God have much more right to be here and dominate this earth than the devil does, for "The earth is the Lord’s, and the fullness of it, the world and they who dwell in it," as Psalm 24:1 (AMPC) states!

I started speaking out loud praises to the LORD, then I prayed out loud in the Spirit. I knew that, if I could hear them, the demons inside those people that were making them curse could hear me! Then, I said, "In the Name of Jesus, I take authority over you, devils! Shut up, in Jesus' Name, and get out of here! I rebuke you!"

Then I continued to pray--even louder!--in the Spirit and praise the LORD!

Within three minutes, those men got in their cars and left! All was peaceful again, and I continued my Bible study, until I wanted to stop!

Now, you go and take authority over things in your life that need to be changed!  God will help you!
