IDOLS

The Dictionary defines "IDOL" as: an object of extreme devotion, worship or affection!
Stick with me now and I will make a very clear and important biblical connection!
The Nation of Israel repeatedly disobeyed God and His commands!
They forsook God and began to worship the "IDOLS" or the False God's of heathen lands!
This behavior brought the "WRATH OF GOD" quickly down on their heads!
Their "ARMIES" no longer had God with them when they engaged in war with their enemies, and thousands of them ended up dead!
They worshipped "FALSE GOD'S" or "IDOLS" that they had made with their own hands!
They sacrificed their own first born children to these "IDOLS" of the "HEATHEN LANDS"!
"IDOLS" come in many "FORMS and SHAPES" down on this earth below!
There are many that are pretty obvious if you just stop and think it over real slow!
Many have made "SPORTS TEAMS" into an "IDOL" that they now "WORSHIP" 24/7!
They will gladly place this "WORLDLY IDOL" ahead of the GREAT CREATOR who "RULES" from up in "HEAVEN!
They will give this Idol "EVERY" extra minute of time they have out of "EVERY DAY"!
Their heart becomes totally "DEVOTED" to their "IDOL", and that is where their heart stays!
Do you have an "IDOL" that you worship today?
If God looked into your heart today I wonder what He would find and what He would say!
Would He find that "JESUS" alone owns your heart and your soul?
Or would He find you loving something more than Him, such as fame, power, carnal lusts, silver, and gold?
Would He find that you have made an "IDOL" out of things like: Fishing, Hunting, Racing, Golfing, the list could go on and on!
Would He find that Jesus is at the "BOTTOM of YOUR LIST" in your heart and in your home?
"IDOLS" ...
