How is God Faithful?
by Tonja Taylor

God is faithful.

Of course! He cannot be unfaithful. Hallelujah!

But (to start with a conjunction) what does "faithful" mean?

Nevertheless, My loving-kindness will I not break off from him, nor allow My faithfulness to fail [to lie and be false to him].--Psalm 89:33, AMPC

"Faithful" means simply keeping one's word. The LORD is forever faithful. He is the Spirit of Truth (John 16:13).  He cannot lie and would not if He could. Let God be true and every man a liar!

faithful witness will not lie, but a false witness breathes out falsehoods. --Proverbs 14:5, AMPC

He takes care of us! He is the best, faithful, most loving Father of all time, and He sees and knows everything. Thus, He is always working all things together for our best and His glory (Romans 8:28; Genesis 50:20)!

Lift up your eyes to the heavens, and look upon the earth beneath; for the heavens shall be dissolved and vanish away like smoke, and the earth shall wax old like a garment, and they that dwell therein shall die in like manner [like gnats]. But My salvation shall be forever, and My rightness and justice [and faithfully fulfilled promise] shall not be abolished.--Isaiah 51:5, AMPC

God's Word is the only thing (besides our born-again spirits which are one with Christ) that will last forever!

Sky and earth will pass away, but My words will not pass away.--Matthew 24:35, AMPC

So part of our job on earth is to be thankful to God by remembering His faithfulness. You can start here: "Thank You, God, for watching over me during the night with Your angels, so I could rest in peace and safety, and allow my body and mind to heal. I had no fear of being attacked or dying through the night. Thank You, LORD, for this new day. You will do many good things today! Thank You, Father, for breath in my body..."

And so on.

So (and I found this verse again this morning!) let us do what the following verse says: Stop being anxious and just choose to trust the plans of the LORD, which are only and all good (Jeremiah 29:11; Galations 3:13,14; John 3:15-17, and many more!)!

Therefore thus says the Lord [to Jeremiah]: If you return [and give up this mistaken tone of distrust and despair], then I will give you again a settled place of quiet and safety, and you will be My minister; and if you separate the precious from the vile [cleansing your own heart from unworthy and unwarranted suspicions concerning God’s faithfulness], you shall be My mouthpiece. [But do not yield to them.] Let them return to you—not you to [the people].--Jeremiah 15:9, AMPC

Ask the faithful LORD to help you remember and rehearse and rest in His faithfulness. He will--because He is faithful!
