Therefore do not worry, saying, 'What shall we eat?' or 'What shall we drink?' or 'What shall we wear?' For after all these things the Gentiles seek. For your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you - Matthew 6:31-33 (NKJV).

The Challenge

Many people get frustrated with their unanswered prayers while waiting for the Lord to answer them. And they have cried, begged, prayed, and praised God, yet the challenge is still there. This is the situation of many believers. And some have given up, while others are still hoping that one day, their change will come. But these will not bring about the desired change.

And some Christians are so worried about tomorrow: what to eat, drink and wear, that worry has become their main preoccupation. Yet Christ says that we should not worry over these things, that our heavenly Father knows that we have need of these things. And He went ahead to give us what we should rather be doing. This is to seek first the kingdom and His righteousness, and every other thing will He add to us.

Seek First The Kingdom Of God And His righteousness

This is what many believers are not doing, and this is where they miss it. However, this is God's term to receiving every other thing. Surely, the truth remains that the Lord knows that you have need of these things. And He has no problem giving them to you. But you must seek first the kingdom and His righteousness. This is the condition you must fulfil first; first things first.
