by Lewis E. Thomas LIKE A LEAF UPON THE WIND Our lives are like unto a leaf riding upon the wind!
Spiraling steadily downward because of Adam and Eve's sin.
We never know how long we will live or remain in flight.
And the fear of death fills us with great fright.
Like a leaf in the wind, "LIFE" blows us around, up and down, to and fro!
How long will our flight last, only God knows!
Sometimes the winds of life are gentle and very serene!
Sometimes the winds of life are very brutal and very mean!
I have been blown around hard by the winds of divorce that brought great pain!
It took me years to get my life back on track after divorce derailed my train!
When we get up each morning we know not which way life's winds will take us that day!
It's best to take a moment each morning to bow our head and humbly "PRAY"!
Like a leaf upon the wind our flight of life will differ from one to another!
As we suffer the passing of loved ones such as a friend, parent, sister or brother!
I have discovered there is only one way we can be fearless and truly fly!
Only "ONE WAY" to reach that great heavenly kingdom beyond the "SKY"!
We must embrace Jesus and cherish that old "RUGGED CROSS"!
Else when our "FLIGHT of LIFE" ends we will be "ETERNALLY LOST"!
We can "SOAR LIKE EAGLES" if we surrender to Jesus the "MIGHTY KING of kings!
God will give us a "VICTORY SONG" that we can "FOREVER" sing!
Like a leaf upon the wind...
