Lost
by Aaron Griffith

It's not an easy thing.
This walk, This life.
You don't know, until you know Him,
How the world is against you.

When it first starts to happen,
You can feel it.
Where once you fit in, where you once were accepted,
Now, you stand out.

You don't fit.
It doesn't feel right,
You are alien.

There is a grieving that occurs, when you die to yourself.
But, in re-birth, there is Life!
There is Hope!
There is Joy! Like you never imagined, there is Joy!

You rejoice and you sing new songs of praise.
And you dance.
Like a fool, you dance.
Before His Majesty, you dance.

The world watches with curious amazement.
They scoff at you,
They slander you,
And the Holy One you serve.

These mouths that once encouraged you,
Once upheld you, now tear at your spirit.
Their mocking echoes in your ears.
Pangs of dissonance shake your soul.

You speak Truth,
But they will not hear.
You try to communicate this "thing" that has happened to you,
And they laugh.

They see you through blinded eyes,
and to your horror,
He shows you the hands that cover them.
You watch as they are dragged farther and farther away,

And you weep.

You pray and you reach out for them,
You beg for Him to move!
To rescue them!
To use you to save them!
But nothing.

And you weep.

The same gift He has given to you is available to all,
But He cannot make them accept it.
They are lost,

And He weeps.
