Christmas Adornments
by PamFord Davis

You can deck the halls…

You can deck the walls…

Christmas decorating is not complete until you deck yourself!

What will you wear?

“Deck thyself now with majesty and excellency; and array thyself with glory and beauty (Job 40:10 KJV).”

Some other Bible versions use ‘adorn’ in the place of the word deck. I like that; do you remember Adorn hair spray?

The 1960’s commercials claimed that their product kept hair firmly in place; yet, it was soft to the touch.

We want to be firm in our convictions; yet, tender hearted and compassionate.

Decking out is always in season. Our fashions might not be trendy but godliness never goes out of date.

“But put ye on the Lord Jesus Christ, and make not provision for the flesh, to fulfil the lusts thereof (Romans 13:14 KJV).”

Why put off trusting Him any longer?

He loves you.

“Let this mind be in you, which was also in Christ Jesus:

Who, being in the form of God, thought it not robbery to be equal with God:

But made himself of no reputation, and took upon him the form of a servant, and was made in the likeness of men:

And being found in fashion as a man, he humbled himself, and became obedient unto death, even the death of the cross (Philippians 2:5-8 KJV).”

Many will wear cross necklaces as Christmas adornments.

Jesus carried His cross to Calvary. We celebrate His birth at Christmas but have eternal life because of His death and RESURRECTION.
