Communion and How to Take It
by Tonja Taylor

1 Corinthians 10:16

The cup of blessing [of wine at the Lord’s Supper] upon which we ask [God’s] blessing, does it not mean [that in drinking it] we participate in and share a fellowship (a communion) in the blood of Christ (the Messiah)? The bread which we break, does it not mean [that in eating it] we participate in and share a fellowship (a communion) in the body of Christ?  -- AMPC

Taking Communion means stopping our busy lives to purposely remember the victorious death of Christ Jesus for us on the cross, where His blood washed away the effects of all our sin!

You can take Communion daily, in your home! Here's how:

1. Get a cracker or tiny piece of bread; one to represent you, and another to represent anyone else for whom you want to pray. The bread or cracker represents the body of Jesus, broken for us that we may be healed (I Peter 2:24, Isaiah 53:5).

2. Get a small cup or glass and put about 1/4" of juice or water in it.  This represents the blood of the Lamb, Jesus Christ, shed for us on the cross that we might be born again (John 3:15-17).

3. Find a quiet place where you can focus on the LORD for a few minutes. Start thanking the LORD out loud for His goodness to you; for dying for you and drawing you to Himself, that you might be saved. Sing if you like. Pray in the Spirit; whatever He leads you to do.

4. Lift up the bread to Him--for that is the pattern in the Word, where He took the bread first with His disciples at the Last Supper (the night before He was crucified), and told them to break and eat it, for it represented His body. Thank Him for allowing His body to be broken, that you and your loved ones might be healed.

5. Eat the bread or cracker thoughtfully, worshipfully.

6. Take the glass with the uice or water and lift it up to Him. This represents His blood shed for the remission of sins. Hallelujah! Before you drink it, thank Him that His blood continously (never-ending) covers you and makes you acceptable to the holy Father God; washing you forever. Hallelujah!

7. Tell Him He is your victory; your healing; your deliverance; your prosperity; your abundant life (John 10:10); your everything!

8. Drink the juice/water and ask Him to help you take Communion as often as He wants.

He will!

Teach other Believers to do the same!
