Strength Training
by PamFord Davis

I’m ashamed of myself.

I once exercised faithfully. It wasn’t even a chore; I enjoyed it.

It involved easy floor exercises with hand and ankle weights followed by low impact aerobics.

The more time I dedicated to exercise, the easier the strength training became. Experiencing steady improvement; I worked myself up to 1 hour each morning 6 days a week.

I was about 14 years younger back then.

Maybe I’m just less self-disciplined. I know I don’t have the stamina or strength I once had.

I have no excuse for discouragement or spiritual weariness.

I’m making time to rededicate my life to spiritual strength training.

Discouragement is an enemy.

The LORD is waiting and He has the perfect remedy.

“Do not sorrow, for the joy of the Lord is your strength (Nehemiah 8:10b NKJV).)”

A good exercise routine begins with knee bends.

In faith, we go one step further.

As I live, says the Lord,
Every knee shall bow to Me,
And every tongue shall confess to God (Romans 14:11 NKJV).”
