JOY IN THE LORD

Thought:  To the believer what is the outward expression of an inward spiritual presence?  The word is JOY!  Why?  Because when Jesus died on the cross the curtain was torn from top to bottom that allowed the priests into the Holy of Holies that held his presence.  They were only allowed in that Holy Place once a year with bells tied to their robes to announce their coming.  When that curtain was torn through the sacrifice Jesus made on the cross, forgiveness and right standing with the Lord was once again restored.  It allowed believers like you and me to have constant access to the great I AM.

We don’t need to go through all the rituals and works to attain our salvation.  This was accomplished by Jesus one time sacrifice for the sins of the world.  He was the only sinless one to pay the price of our disobedience.  There is only one way back to God and that is through the blood of Christ.  You must believe in who He is and what He’s done for you.  He offers this free gift of salvation to all who believe because of His incredible love for you.

The Creator of all things came down as a human to pay the price of our redemption.  We can now approach him in His Holy Place without condemnation and have the sweet fellowship with him he so desires.  JOY is an emotion we express when we know we have this relationship with our Lord and we can go on to fulfill His plan for our lives giving us hope for our tomorrows and a bright future that will last forever in a new home He has prepared for his children.  Hope and purpose is our gain when we have Christ in our lives.  If you have not made this decision yet I would encourage you to do it now…this is the time of Salvation.  He’s coming soon for his own…be ready for that grand re-union in the sky.

Prayer:  Father God, you promised to return and take us home.  You said it, it will happen.  Amen

Verse:  Brothers and sisters, we do not want you to be uninformed about those who sleep in death, so that you do not grieve like the rest of mankind, who have no hope. For we believe that Jesus died and rose again, and so we believe that God will bring with Jesus those who have fallen asleep in him. According to the Lord’s word, we tell you that we who are still alive, who are left until the coming of the Lord, will certainly not precede those who have fallen asleep. For the Lord himself will come down from heaven, with a loud command, with the voice of the archangel and with the trumpet call of God, and the dead in Christ will rise first. After that, we who are still alive and are left will be caught up together with them in the clouds to meet the Lord in the air. And so we will be with the Lord forever. Therefore encourage one another with these words.

1 Thessalonians 4:13-18
