Greatest Hero of All
by PamFord Davis

Who are your heroes?

Maybe you’re a sports fan; your heroes are on the front page of magazines. They make millions of dollars for their talents and you make it a habit to watch them every week.

If a survivor of COVID, many believe the men and women in medical occupations are heroes.

Hebrews chapter 11 reveals heroes of the faith.

Not many cheered them on.

God gives faithful servants His seal of approval.

“His lord said to him, ‘Well done, good and faithful servant; you have been faithful over a few things, I will make you ruler over many things. Enter into the joy of your lord (Matthew 25:23 NKJV).”

Many have been God’s servants to emulate in my walk of faith.

There are countless men and women in scriptures, my husband, praying grandparents, pastors, Sunday school teachers, friends, missionaries and Christian writers. They make up a group of witnesses to God’s mercy and grace.

They pointed me to Jesus; the greatest hero of all.

“Therefore we also, since we are surrounded by so great a cloud of witnesses, let us lay aside every weight, and the sin which so easily ensnares us, and let us run with endurance the race that is set before us, looking unto Jesus, the author and finisher of our faith, who for the joy that was set before Him endured the cross, despising the shame, and has sat down at the right hand of the throne of God (Hebrews 12:1-2 NKJV).”
